We can end slavery in our lifetime.
Today, more than 50 million people live in slavery. We believe we can end slavery in our lifetime.
HERE'S HOW:

Rescue Victims
Locate victims and remove them from the place where they’re in danger.

Bring Criminals to Justice
Hold slave owners, traffickers, rapists and criminals accountable in court.

Restore Survivors
Give survivors the support and tools they need to heal and to thrive.

Strengthen Justice Systems
Stop violence before it starts by helping to strengthen the local justice system.
But it doesn't stop there. We're not only working all around the world to free people trapped in slavery, we're protecting them from brutal violence:

Forced Labour Slavery
Forced labour slavery uses deception, threats or violence to coerce someone to work for little to no pay.

Sex Trafficking
The nightmare of sex trafficking thrives when women and children who are vulnerable aren't protected by their own justice systems.

Sexual Violence Against Children
Sexual violence is a global epidemic that leaves millions of children around the world terrified in their homes, schools and neighbourhoods.

Citizenship Rights Abuse
Worldwide, an estimated 12 million people are stateless — people who hold no citizenship of any kind. No citizenship means no country claims you. No justice system protects you.

Police Abuse of Power
Poor people in the developing world are abused by corrupt police who extort bribes and brutalize innocent citizens.

Land Theft
Widows and orphans in the developing world are particularly vulnerable to land theft. A house and a small patch of land are often their only source of shelter or food.
IJM partners with local authorities in 29 program offices in 17 countries to combat slavery, violence against women and children, and other forms of abuse against people who are poor.
