Over 50 Police Officers in Bangladesh Trained on Anti-Human Trafficking and Victim Care and Management
IJM staff trained the officers on identifying human trafficking crimes, anti-human trafficking laws, international principles of victim support and management, and trauma-informed interviewing. IJM also led a ‘Training of Trainers’ session to build a pool of expert trainers within Bangladesh who can lead similar workshops in the future. -

Ukrainian Refugees Flows in Romania and Human Trafficking Trends
Between March 1 and May 31, 2024, International Justice Mission (IJM) implemented an extensive data collection program to understand the risks of trafficking and exploitation faced by Ukrainian refugees in Romania. In total, 40 professionals from 29 IJM Romania partner institutions were interviewed. Additionally, from April to May 2024, a total of 495 Ukrainian refugees responded to an online questionnaire, which aimed to collect information about their experiences in Romania, perceived risks, and willingness to report these risks to the authorities. The data collection is part of the scope of the project “Regional Response to Trafficking in Persons within the Ukraine Crisis”, funded by the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, U.S. Department of State, and implemented by IJM. -

Human Trafficker Sentenced to Five Years Imprisonment, Ordered to Pay 20,000 Cedi Compensation to Victim
ACCRA, GHANA – The Jasikan Circuit Court, in the Jasikan District of the Oti Region on 20<sup>th</sup> September 2022, sentenced a 45-year-old fisherman to a five-year imprisonment term for the offense of human trafficking and ordered him to pay a compensation of 20,000 cedis to the victim.
