IJM El Salvador partners with Compassion International
Violence Against Women and Children

IJM partners closely with many organizations around the world (including the local church) and recently embarked on a new project with Compassion in El Salvador.
El Salvador is plagued with pervasive violence that instills fear in women and children. In 2020, sexual crimes in El Salvador were reported every 4 hours. 48.5% of sexual crimes affected girls and adolescents under 18 years of age (Infosegura).
The new “Train the Trainer” program will equip 20 Compassion pastors in San Miguel with a biblical approach and tools to respond to this local injustice. The training covers essential topics such as:
- Justice, a biblical framework
- God's character
- Advocating for those who are suffering, becoming instruments in God's hand
Under the "Train the Trainer" model, these pastors will not only gain valuable knowledge themselves, but will be trained pass on their learning to other pastors and their congregations, fostering a ripple effect of understanding and advocacy across the country.
This partnership is a remarkable breakthrough, truly worthy of celebration. Praise God!
