IJM Canada Welcomes Critical Leadership Title Transition
Wednesday, March 31, 2021 – As Women’s History Month closes, International Justice Mission Canada is pleased to announce that the highest leadership position will now be recognized as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). To reflect the growing impact that IJM Canada is having within Canada and around the world, the transition to CEO better represents the status of the leader of IJM Canada.
Anu George Canjanathoppil will continue in this role assuming the title of CEO. Under her leadership, IJM Canada has managed record growth in 2020 despite the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. As the organization looks forward to continued and accelerated growth in 2021 and beyond to end violence perpetrated against the poor and vulnerable, positioning IJM Canada leaders and team in the strongest possible way is essential.
“The Board of Directors is thrilled the leader of the IJM Canada team now has a title reflective of the important work and deep leadership that is required of the role,” said James Peters, Chairperson, IJM Canada Board of Directors. “This change also reflects the utmost confidence that the Board of Directors has in Canjanathoppil’s leadership.”
