A 14-year-old Receives Justice After Three Years of Abuse
In a significant milestone for justice in Bolivia, a child and her family found relief and justice with the support of PROBOS, an IJM partner, a 25-year prison sentence was secured for the man who was found guilty of sexually abusing his stepdaughter. This sentence, being the most severe for crimes of this nature, provides a sense of justice and closure for the survivor and her family. -

Man Convicted by Bolivian Court for Sexually Abusing a Child
LA PAZ, BOLIVIA – March 1, 2024, was a day of celebration and relief for Carina* and her family. After a long nine-year court battle, PROBOS, an IJM-trained partner, took on the case in February 2024. A month later, they achieved a 12-year sentence for the school teacher who sexually assaulted Carina when she was eight years old.
