Joash Thomas

Joash Thomas
Joash Thomas is International Justice Mission Canada’s National Director of Mobilization & Advocacy. Born and raised in India, Joash has served with IJM teams in 3 countries over the past 8 years. Prior to joining IJM, Joash ran a political consulting and lobbying firm in the United States.
Joash has a master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and is currently pursuing a dual master’s degree in Christian Leadership & Systematic Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. A sought-after speaker, Joash is frequently invited to teach about justice at churches across Canada. Based in the Greater Toronto Area, Joash leads a dynamic team that is building the Canadian movement to rescue millions and protect half a billion people from slavery & violence by 2030.
David Pollendine
National Director for Development Growth
David Pollendine
David Pollendine is IJM,'s National Director of Development Growth. Born and raised in the UK, he came to Canada with his family and started working for IJM in 2017 focusing on an ambitious vision by 2030, to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and prove that justice for people in poverty is unstoppable.
David is a trained teacher, actor and cut his teeth as a fundraiser working for Christian Aid and St. John Ambulance in the UK. During the 90's David spent 10 years in the Czech Republic working with students after the velvet revolution which ended communism in the former Czechoslovakia to help pioneer and establish a National Student Christian Union (UKH).
David has a BSC Hons in Sports Science from St Mary's College, University of Surrey and a Masters in Applied Drama from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Before coming to Canada, David ran his own theatre company writing and directing plays for schools and using drama as a vehicle for transformation in youth clubs, libraries, museums, and youth offender centres. Over the years he has partnered with a number of NGOs running arts and development projects in communities across Europe, Africa and Asia. David lives in Winnipeg and is married to Irfana and has two children, Zara (16) and Zane (13), and a faithful dog called Biscuit.
Eugene Au
Director of Development and Mobilization, British Columbia
Eugene Au
Eugene Au serves as the Director of Development and Mobilization in British Columbia for International Justice Mission (IJM) Canada. In this role, Eugene develops relationships to share IJM’s vision and to invite people and organizations to partner with us in the mission to protect people from violence.
As a lawyer called to the bar in B.C., Eugene has over 10 years of experience practicing law in the areas of personal injury, family law, and wills and estates. He brings his experience of assisting and representing clients to his approach in serving IJM’s constituents. Eugene is passionate about encouraging individuals and communities to seek and do justice, especially for people who are vulnerable. Together with his wife, Hannah, Eugene served in the field with IJM as a Legal Fellow, supporting the fight against human trafficking in South Asia.
Eugene received his law degree from The University of British Columbia. He and Hannah live in Vancouver.
Sinead Finnegan
Director of Development and Mobilization, Greater Toronto Area
Sinead Finnegan
Sinead Finnegan serves as IJM Canada’s Director of Development and Mobilization in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This role allows Sinead to develop relationships and partnerships with people and corporations that align with IJM’s vision of freeing millions from slavery and protecting half a billion from violence.
Sinead has over 20 years working with NGO’s both in her local community and nationally in Canada, where she has supported and led teams in event planning, business development, fund-raising & partnership management. She is a passionate leader that helps people to discover their true potential and champions unity, transformation, inclusion and innovation. Sinead strongly advocates for freedom, justice and protection of the world’s most vulnerable people.
Sinead lives in the GTA with her husband and youngest child; the 3 oldest children are away at various universities. In her spare time you will find her on her bike; road riding or mountain biking, teaching yoga and meditation or travelling.
Robin Padanyi
Director of Development and Mobilization, Prairies
Robin Padanyi
Robin Padanyi is IJM Canada’s Director of Development and Mobilization for the Prairies. In this role, Robin connects with IJM’s community of supporters and partner churches across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, helping everyday men and women find joy in giving to IJM’s work of protecting half a billion people worldwide from ever being beaten, enslaved, raped or robbed in the first place; proving that justice for the poor is unstoppable.
Robin worked for 6 years with Hope Mission, a gospel rescue mission in Edmonton, then had the privilege of working with the Calgary Public Library Foundation, a role that moved him and his family across the province.
Robin lives in Calgary with his wife and spends much of his time chasing around their two young children.
Alison Hardman
Director of Development and Mobilization
Alison Hardman
Alison Hardman serves as IJM Canada’s Director of Development and Mobilization in the Ontario East region. Alison comes to IJM following 7 years on staff at a large church in Ontario, and previously at various charities in the GTA.
Alison has over 15 years of experience in fundraising and enjoys bringing her perspective and connections as a member of several Boards of Directors, including StreetLevel, The DAM, and Friends of Jesus Collective. She has a heart for marginalized people and is passionate about seeking justice for people who are poor and oppressed.
Alison lives in the GTA with her husband and several pets left behind by her 3 adult children who are still close to home. In her spare time, Alison can be found playing ice hockey, and softball or enjoying the peaceful rhythms of summer life on Georgian Bay.
Erin Delamont
Mobilization Associate
Erin Delamont
As Mobilization Associate for IJM Canada, Erin combines two of her great passions--the local church in Canada and social justice. She cares deeply about the role that churches and individual congregants can play in ending slavery and exploitation around the world.
Before coming to IJM Canada, Erin worked for a variety of nonprofits, including a Canadian-focused anti-trafficking organization as well as an international NGO focusing on locally-impowered community development. She’s volunteered and worked for over a decade in a variety of roles at her local church, including serving as an elder and organizing denominational conferences.
Erin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Nonprofit Management from Mount Royal University. She lives in Calgary, AB with her husband and three children who love to spend time together playing board games, camping, and exploring local playgrounds.
Julianne Healey
Development Program, Lead
Julianne Healey
Julianne serves as International Justice Mission's Development Program Lead. In this role, she is able to bring her talents in project management and leadership alongside her passion for social justice. Before joining IJM Canada, Julianne worked with Novus Global, an elite coaching firm, as an executive coach and Manager of Novus Global Sports.
Julianne graduated from the University of Alberta with her Bachelor’s in Criminology and completed the Meta Performance Institute for Coaching with Novus Global. She has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, building and leading teams, and project management.
Julianne lives in Calgary, Canada with her husband. When Julianne isn’t working you can find her in the mountains hiking, camping, and fly fishing.
Jemila Jackson
Special Assistant, Senior Leadership
Jemila Jackson
Before joining IJM Canada as the Special Assistant to the CEO, Jemila spent her time sharing the inspirational stories of women globally through speaking at retreats and conferences. She also produced and hosted the ‘I’m Still Standing Podcast’, a podcast highlighting women’s issues and stories of overcoming, listened to in over 25 countries.
By trade Jemila is a Social Worker holding a Master of Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She practiced community social work and private practice counselling in the Greater Toronto Area. Jemila loves writing and made her debut in the writing world in 2021 by publishing her first book Radical Obedience.
She lives in Oxford County, Ontario with her husband Jamie and children Ariah and Amari. Jemila enjoys hiking, trying new recipes and spending time with her loved ones.
Lorianne Dueck
Mobilization and Advocacy Programs, Coordinator
Lorianne Dueck
Lorianne is the Mobilization and Advocacy Programs Coordinator at IJM Canada. Before joining IJM Canada in October 2020, she worked at the Centre for Faith and Public Life, Carleton University and Ottawa Walking Tours. She has authored case studies, supported businesses, volunteered for faith organizations and fundraised with not-for-profits. These experiences have developed Lorianne’s passion for helping people find practical new ways to love their neighbours – especially those in vulnerable situations.
She spent her childhood in Winnipeg, Manitoba before moving to Emo, a town of 1400 in North-Western Ontario. While she enjoys exploring the beauty of rural Canada, her passion for cultures and international business brought her to Ottawa and eventually Mississauga – one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Lorianne has spent time living overseas and enjoys speaking other languages (especially Spanish) and is grateful to call Canada her home.
Lorianne holds a Bachelor of International Business with a concentration in Human Resources and International Strategy from Carleton University. She values being part of IJM’s global team that prioritizes communication and collaboration in the fight to end modern day slavery. After work, she loves spending time outside, celebrating life in community, playing piano and singing.
