A passion for dance raised funds to free people from slavery.

THREE HILLS, ALBERTA: When Skye learned about the work of IJM Canada she knew she couldn’t sit at home comfortably while other people suffered.
A passion for dance raised funds to free people from slavery.

With that in mind, Skye decided to join Just Move, our July fundraising campaign. She set a goal of raising $16,400 to fund two rescues and then invited her friends and family to be part of her mission.

"I knew I couldn’t allow someone to go without freedom while I was able to provide it."

She committed to using her love of dance and recorded a new video each week which she then posted to her social media account.

There were times it was difficult, but her friends, and stories of rescue, encouraged her to keep moving. Her emotion-filled dances drew others to her mission and, without asking directly, she met her goal and raised enough to fund two complete rescues!

We are so thankful for supporters like Skye who use their creative gifts to help create a new future for vulnerable men, women and children.
