IJM Canada Leadership Transition
Summary:
After a period of prayerful discernment, Anu has decided to focus on family priorities in the coming season. Her last day as CEO was February 9th, and she will graciously continue serving part‑time as Senior Advisor to IJM Canada through June 30, 2026.
We are deeply thankful for Anu’s courageous leadership and lasting impact on our mission and on survivors around the world.
“Anu has faithfully and boldly led IJM Canada, and it has been an honour and a joy to serve alongside her. While she will be dearly missed by the global IJM community, and here in Canada, we wish her all the very best in this next chapter.” – Angie Redecopp, IJM Canada Board Chair
The search for IJM Canada’s new CEO will begin shortly, as the Board of Directors embarks on the journey to find the next visionary leader who will build on the foundations laid, guiding the organization to continue in its vision to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice for people who are poor unstoppable.
In the interim, IJM Canada will advance its strategic plan, remaining committed to its mission, poised for continued year-over-year growth with strong leadership and enhanced Board oversight.
Wayne Alguire will serve as Interim CEO. Wayne previously served on the IJM Canada Board of Directors and brings executive experience from the corporate sector as well as years in pastoral leadership.
Cheryl Hotchkiss will resume her role as VP, Advancement and Strategy.
A reflection from Anu:
“IJM Canada and IJM Global have never been about one leader. It has always been about people who stayed in the unremarkable middle, who believed justice is formed not just in rescues, but in resilience, humour, prayer, spreadsheets, and showing up again tomorrow.”
Please join us in thanking Anu for her service and in praying for this next season for her and her family. We are so grateful for your prayers and continued support.
Until all are free.
