The GPG Story

IJM first began hosting a Prayer Gathering in 2001 with the goal of simply bringing together all of our prayer partners to pray for the work. That first year, 150 people came ready to pray. Over the past ten years, IJM’s global staff has been utterly amazed and humbled to now see nearly 1,000 supporters from around the world come to join us for a weekend of focused prayer.

In 2009, we began making portions of the GPG available online for those unable to join in person. This year, we look forward to live streaming large group sessions, as well as providing a forum for our prayer supporters and field staff to connect online.

Each year GPG registration has reached maximum capacity faster and faster. We have been delighted to see the growing enthusiasm for doing the work of justice, through the work of prayer.
