Petra Bosma

Communications Coordinator

As Communications Coordinator for IJM Canada, Petra coordinates the organization’s communications initiatives. Her duties include capturing and writing stories that describe the work of IJM Canada, managing media relations, developing marketing materials and creating web and social media content. Petra joined IJM Canada full-time on October 18, 2010.

Before coming to IJM Canada, Petra worked in several not-for-profit environments, including the University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College and the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA). During her time as Project Officer with Fanshawe College, she co-ordinated the implementation of language-training courses targeted at Canadian newcomers. While employed at OUSA as Director of Research and Policy Analysis, Petra managed research team members and led the development of policy positions on issues of concern to undergraduate students in Ontario. She holds a M.A. in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations, and an honours B.A. in English and Political Science, both from the University of Western Ontario.

Petra lives in London, Ontario, where she is active in several ministries in her local church.
