Mary Knor serves as the Public Engagement Coordinator for International Justice Mission Canada. IJM Canada is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.
Mary Knor joined IJM Canada in 2007. After graduating from high school, she attended Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in Hamilton, Ontario and took the Legal Office Administration Program by completing the two-year certification in one full year. After completion of this program of study, she was employed as a law clerk at Ferro and Company, a law firm in Hamilton. Mary then moved to Alberta to work for a national non-profit law firm that works to protect the rights and freedoms of families across Canada.
Mary has spent time traveling on different mission trips to Mexico, Ecuador, and within the United States, and through this has seen the suffering of the oppressed and developed a passion for creating a voice for the voiceless.
