Sean Litton, Vice President of Field Operations

Sean Litton currently directs IJM’s casework operations around the world in Latin America, Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia, developing intervention strategies and advocating with local and national authorities. Prior to his position at IJM's global headquarters, he worked for IJM in the Philippines, Thailand, and the Southeast Asia offices.

Featured Speaker: Christa Hayden

Christa Hayden is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director of Church Mobilization for International Justice Mission (USA). Before joining IJM headquarters in Washington, D.C., in 2009, Christa served as the Director of Aftercare for IJM Cambodia from 2005 through 2008. In Cambodia, Christa led a team of national social workers in providing crisis care and job placement coordination for trafficking survivors and developed strategic partnerships with aftercare specialists and community development agencies. Christa also acted as a professional resource for the aftercare community by developing training manuals, conducting research and training social workers in the skills needed to effectively care for victimized children.

In her current role, Christa speaks to church congregations, encouraging, equipping and mobilizing churches and communities to begin their own justice journeys.

Christa holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and a B.A. in Political Science and African & African Diaspora Studies from Tulane University. Prior to her time in Cambodia, Christa served in refugee resettlement, youth psychiatric care, the U.S. Senate, and with Young Life’s Military Community Youth Ministries in Italy.

This informative lunch will host Joanne Rudnick as a guest speaker. Joanne has a background in law enforcement and has conducted police training seminars in Cambodia on behalf of IJM.

This event is intended for individuals aged 55 and over.

Social Justice Conference

Sharon Forbes will speak at the 4th annual conference about her experiences in South Asia, focusing on the issues of bonded slave labour. Sharon spent almost a year as an Investigations Intern with International Justice Mission in South Asia working to fight for the oppressed and rescue them from bonded slavery.

Alliance Against Modern Slavery presents: Slavery in the 21st Century

IJM Canada's Executive Director, Jamie McIntosh, will appear as a panelist on Saturday, January 29th at this one-day conference at York University. The conference, entitled "Slavery in the 21st Century" is hosted by Alliance Against Modern Slavery and coincides with the official two-day launch (January 28th and 29th) of the organization.

Southside Community Church Ash Wednesday Celebration

IJM Canada representative, Mark Wollenberg, will share about IJM's work at the church's Ash Wednesday Celebration. All four of the church's congregations will be in attendance.

The theme of Month of Missions 2011 at Wesley Chapel Free Methodist Church is "Mercy and Justice". Scott Forbes, IJM Canada representative, will speak about IJM’s work.

Freedom Rally and March to End Human Trafficking

IJM Canada's executive director, Jamie McIntosh, will speak on behalf of IJM at the Freedom Rally and March to End Human Trafficking in Langley, BC.

The march will begin at 11am at Fraser Highway and Glover Road. The march will end at Douglas Park, where speeches will begin at 1pm.

IJM Canada regional representative Mark Wollenberg will give an overview of IJM's global work in advance of the church's justice series launch and church-wide Loose Change to Loosen Chains initiative.

Raise Their Voice Conference

IJM Canada regional representative Mark Wollenberg will deliver a keynote address and 1 hour workshop about the global scope of human trafficking.

Raise Their Voice: The Trafficked + Exploited is two day event in April which is Human Trafficking Awareness month. Organized by Red Deer’s Raise Their Voice Against Injustice Foundation, the event will feature workshops, networking, strategic thinking, creative expressions and keynote addresses by leading activists on trafficking in Canada.
